We signed our taxes at the CPA's office today. It looks like we'll be getting back a total of $9700, including the first-time homebuyer credit. Don't worry, we've already adjusted our withholdings for 2010.
The CPA charged us $90 for both state and federal taxes. After looking at the turbo tax prices ($89 for federal and state), I feel like we made the right decision. I really really wanted to go to a CPA this year since we bought the house and moved states. I just wanted everything to be right. It was nice to be able to sit down with someone and ask as many questions as we needed and I feel a little less stressed about everything going through smoothly for the first-time homebuyer credit. We will probably take them to the same guy next year also.
I'll update when we recieve the money. I'm interested in whether or not it will be as slow as the media says.
